August 14, 2025Preparing The Next Generation for the World of Work
At Mattair, we believe that investing in the future means investing in young people today. That’s why we were proud to see our Technical Sales Director, Ian Fisher, take part in the Work Wise Foundation Summer Academy 2025 last week — an inspiring initiative dedicated to preparing students for the transition from education into the workplace.
The Summer Academy brought together enthusiastic students eager to develop essential employability skills. Ian was delighted to play a hands-on role, working closely with participants to help them build the tools they need to succeed.
Over the course of the event, Ian supported students in three key areas:
-
CV Development – Providing guidance on how to create a professional, impactful CV that showcases strengths, achievements, and potential.
-
Elevator Pitch Practice – Helping students refine their personal introductions so they can present themselves with confidence and clarity in networking situations.
-
Mock Interviews – Offering constructive feedback and real-world interview scenarios to boost self-assurance and communication skills.
For Ian, the experience was as rewarding as it was impactful. “It’s fantastic to see the next generation so engaged and eager to learn,” he said. “With the right guidance and encouragement, they can step into their careers with confidence.”
The Work Wise Foundation has been instrumental in promoting workplace skills and career readiness among young people, and Mattair is proud to support its mission. By sharing our experience and expertise, we hope to inspire future professionals, helping them navigate their first steps into the working world. Opportunities like these are a reminder that preparing the workforce of tomorrow starts with action today — and at Mattair, we’re committed to doing our part. Visit https://www.mattair.co.uk/stem/ for more details on STEM activities.
