STEM Ambassadors is a fantastic volunteer programme which aims to promote science, technology, engineering and mathematics in education and careers. One of Mattair’s employees is an award-winning STEM Ambassador and contributes voluntary hours every year to engage with local children in STEM activities.
Recently, our employees have participated in STEM workshops, judged a STEM competition and volunteered at the ‘Get Up To Speed Event’ organised by Work Wise. This is a one day event aimed to ‘ introduce and inspire students, parents and teachers about the world of work in the STEM sectors’.
Through these activities our employees can share their own enthusiasm for these subjects as well as providing an insight into their career and experiences, with the aim of helping young people to understand the real-world application of STEM.
By interacting with STEM Ambassadors, young people can gain a better understanding of the opportunities in STEM fields, develop important skills and be inspired to pursue careers in these areas.
