August 21, 2026Air Conditioning Replacement Project at Rotherham School
Our engineers have recently completed another air conditioning installation at a school in Rotherham as part of an ongoing programme to replace and upgrade existing air conditioning equipment.
The latest phase of the project involved the removal of four existing systems and the installation of two new Daikin cassette systems and two new Toshiba systems, providing reliable and efficient heating and cooling for the school.
Making Use of Existing Infrastructure
Where suitable, our engineers were able to reuse the existing refrigeration pipework, power supplies and interconnecting cables. Each element was assessed to ensure it was in a suitable condition for continued use, with any damaged or unsuitable sections replaced as required.
Reusing serviceable infrastructure where appropriate can help minimise disruption and unnecessary work while still ensuring the completed installation meets the required standards.
The new outdoor units were mounted on anti-vibration feet to help reduce the transfer of noise and vibration during operation – an important consideration within a school environment.
Testing and Commissioning
Once the new equipment had been installed, our engineers carried out comprehensive testing before commissioning the systems.
All refrigeration pipework was pressure tested using Oxygen Free Nitrogen (OFN), with the systems successfully passing the tests and no leaks detected. A deep vacuum was then carried out to ensure the systems were dry and ready for operation.
Each of the four new air conditioning systems was then fully tested and commissioned. Operational checks confirmed correct heating and cooling performance, satisfactory electrical operation and normal system functionality.
The systems were left fully operational on completion, providing the school with an updated air conditioning solution for year-round heating and cooling.
Planning an Air Conditioning Replacement or Upgrade?
Replacing ageing air conditioning equipment can help improve reliability, efficiency and comfort while reducing the risk of unexpected system failures.
At Mattair, we work with schools, businesses and organisations to assess existing air conditioning equipment and provide practical solutions for replacement and upgrade programmes.
If you have ageing air conditioning systems that are becoming unreliable or are considering a planned replacement programme, visit https://www.mattair.co.uk/air-conditioning-installation/for more information or contact the Mattair team on 01246 414922 to discuss your requirements and find out how we can help.
