Cold Room Upgrade – Reducing Carbon Footprint

We recently responded to a call-out from a fishmonger in Sheffield, where their cold room storage unit was underperforming—a critical issue when it comes to fresh produce storage!

During the initial inspection, our engineer discovered that the NTC probe wasn’t reading the correct temperature. Further investigation revealed a damaged coil that was beyond repair.

🔧 To resolve the issue, we ordered and installed a brand-new evaporator and condenser. The original unit used R404A refrigerant, which was upgraded to a new system with R449A—alower GWP (Global Warming Potential) alternative, helping to reduce the building’s carbon footprint.

🌍 Not only did we restore the cold room’s efficiency, but we also helped the business take a step toward sustainability by improving its environmental impact.
