June 11, 2026F-Gas Training For Engineers
We are delighted to announce that our engineer, Dexter Sheppard, successfully completed his F-Gas Category 1 qualification last week at Polar Pumps.
At Mattair, we strongly believe that ongoing training and professional development are essential within the HVAC and refrigeration industry. As technologies continue to evolve and environmental regulations become increasingly important, ensuring our engineers remain fully qualified and up to date with industry standards is a key priority for our business.
F-Gas certification is a vital qualification for engineers working with refrigeration, air conditioning, and heat pump systems. The qualification ensures engineers are trained to safely handle refrigerants, carry out installations and maintenance correctly, and minimise the environmental impact associated with refrigerant gases.
The F-Gas Category 1 qualification is the highest level of certification available and allows engineers to undertake installation, servicing, maintenance, leak checking, and recovery of refrigerants on all stationary refrigeration, air conditioning, and heat pump systems.
The importance of F-Gas training across the industry cannot be overstated. Properly trained engineers help ensure:
- Safe and compliant handling of refrigerants
- Reduced refrigerant emissions and environmental impact
- Improved energy efficiency of systems
- Increased reliability and performance of equipment
- Compliance with current environmental legislation
- Greater confidence and reassurance for customers and clients
With sustainability and energy efficiency becoming increasingly important across all sectors, businesses and customers alike rely on qualified engineers to deliver safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible solutions.
We are incredibly proud of Dexter for achieving this qualification and continuing to develop his skills within the industry. Investing in training not only benefits our engineers professionally, but also ensures we continue to provide the highest standards of service and expertise to our customers.
We would also like to thank the team at Polar Pumps for delivering the training and supporting Dexter throughout the course.
Congratulations again, Dexter — a fantastic achievement and an important step forward in your professional development.
